This past December has been one of lots of fun crafts for the boys, yummy homemade Christmas goodies, and lots of fun with the family. I am so thankful for this time of year and the joy and love it brings out in people. This year the boys and I made some fun ornaments for the tree. (Pictures in previous posts) It was fun for the boys to see all the ornaments they made hanging on the tree.
This year I decided to make candy for the first time and lots of yummy goodies for my family and for my parents as their Christmas gift. A little gift to remember tradition and also a delicious gift. Here are the treats I made.
My Parents gift.
From left to right. Chocolate Cookies w/Marshmallow and Mint frosting, Homemade Caramel Popcorn, Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies, Homemade Caramels, Homemade Oatmeal Cookies, and Homemade Peppermint Melts hand dipped in Chocolate. I was very excited that all of these turned out well especially the caramels since it was my first time making them.
Making a Gingerbread house Village.
The Final Result.
Homemade Glazed Donuts! Melt in your mouth.
My parents gave Erich and I a Deep Fryer for Christmas so we set it up while they were there and made some donuts and donu tholes. They were easy and fun to make and we have already used the fryer multiple times since then. Our other favorite we made was homemade french fries. So good. We could be in trouble having a deep fryer in the house.
